For our Client, a manufacturing company and a leader in its industry, we are looking for a candidate for the position of:

 

SAP Data Migration Consultant – Freelance Contract

Location: Europe (Remote with occasional travel)
Duration: 3 – 4 Years
The SAP Data Migration Consultant will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, and supporting data migration activities within SAP implementation and transformation projects. The role focuses on ensuring accurate, secure, and efficient migration of business data from legacy systems into SAP environments, including SAP S/4HANA.

The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, functional consultants, developers, and project managers to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance throughout the migration lifecycle.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing source systems and defining data migration strategies,
  • Designing and executing end-to-end data migration processes,
  • Performing data extraction, cleansing, transformation, validation, and loading,
  • Supporting SAP implementation and SAP S/4HANA transformation projects,
  • Preparing mapping documents and migration specifications,
  • Managing data quality and reconciliation activities,
  • Executing migration test cycles and supporting cutover activities,
  • Collaborating with business users to validate migrated data,
  • Identifying and resolving migration-related issues and risks,
  • Preparing technical and functional documentation,
  • Supporting post-go-live stabilization activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in SAP Data Migration projects,
  • Experience in SAP implementation or SAP S/4HANA migration projects,
  • Strong understanding of SAP master and transactional data structures,
  • Hands-on experience with SAP data migration tools such as:
    • SAP Migration Cockpit,
    • LSMW,
    • BODS / SAP Data Services,
    • LTMC / LTMOM,
    • ETL tools,
  • Experience in:
    • Data extraction,
    • Data cleansing,
    • Data mapping,
    • Data validation and reconciliation,
  • Knowledge of SAP modules such as FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, or HR,
  • Ability to analyze complex data structures and business processes,
  • Familiarity with SQL and data analysis techniques,
  • Understanding of migration methodologies and cutover planning,
  • Experience working with large datasets and legacy systems,
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with business stakeholders,
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Brownfield or Greenfield projects,
  • Knowledge of SAP MDG (Master Data Governance),
  • Familiarity with SAP BTP and cloud migration scenarios,
  • Experience with SAP Data Intelligence or SAP Datasphere,
  • Knowledge of ABAP debugging or basic development skills,
  • Experience in international projects,
  • SAP certifications related to Data Migration or S/4HANA.
